My mother-in-law Pat worked together with my boyfriend Martin , my ex-boyfriend Joe , and my dear friend Lisa, to create this book for me. (How's *that* for a benefit of living an honest and open life?)

I adore Rachel Carson's "The Sense of Wonder" more than I can express, but my first copy of it, with beautiful pictures, was damaged in a flood, and my current copy has so-so pictures. Both text and pictures are important, for this book, at least for me, and I was bemoaning the lack of copies I could find, in any edition, with good pictures.

So Pat worked together with Lisa and Joe (who are photographers) and Martin to typeset the book for me and insert Lisa and Joe 's photos, as well as my own, to create a personal copy of the book for me. It's dedicated to Owen. :)
