Ishmael

This is Ishmael, the baby squirrel we found on a sidewalk in our neighborhood. He must have fallen out of a nearby tree and we debated about whether the mother would come back to get him, but ultimately decided that we couldn't leave him out there (ants had already started to gather) and we took him home. I'm glad we did, because once we looked up the care of rescued squirrels on the internet, we found out that his mother probably wouldn't have come to get him.

We will keep him overnight and then take him to a wildlife rehabilitation center.

The picture looks a little wonky because I adjusted the brightness and contrast in order to show his face better. He's quite squirmy and it's hard to get a good picture of him!

i`m scanning some analogue pictures of my dog Floris. he recently passed away and i`m trying to save as many of his pictures as i can for the digital age. This picture was taken 15 years ago when he and his brothers were 6 weeks old, Floris is the second from the left.
For those of you who asked: he was of a dutch breed: kooikerhondje (decoydog).
