Happy 4th of July

Long day winding down for Heidi and I. As we're getting closer to adding to our own family, we're reminded often about how great our parents and our siblings are. This weekend, they came to help paint our future-baby's room, working with the windows open and no AC in the room. I'm thankful for their help this year as we get ready.

I really love this first picture in the set. Looking out the window, I saw this gorgeous sunset. I grabbed my camera and took a quick couple of shots with the window & screen still in place, which led to the cool pixelated effect you see in this shot.

I then took out the window and screen, shooting the next few without obstruction. somehow, they just didn't turn out as cool as this one. Something to be said for spontaneous and inspired turning out better than deliberate, I guess. :)
