The Shooter in Red: New Gear Layout

In an earlier comment, Codename Silent G suggested that the Fastmag holders would be better placed on the shooter's left and the pistol mags on the right. The radio placement on the left also tended to get an antenna in the Shooter's face, so while re-rigging the chest harness, I also moved the radio pouch to her belt (which has also been replaced with a hand-made one that closes with a quick-release clip now). Here's the final result.

The Shooter Wore Red: Sidearm

Those are Soldier Story molded gloved hands, which are just a tiny bit big but can work on female figure handpegs. Learned this trick from Codename Silent G, and you should check out his album for cooler bashes than mine.
Bending Over Backwards to be Fed

In this photo, a juvenile Blue-footed Booby gestures frantically (or so it seems to me) for its parent to regurgitate a snack into its bill.
Yes, it would be nice if the infant were seated in a high chair and Mom (or Dad) fed it Gerber's Herring Puree with a sterling sliver baby spoon. But that's just not the seabird way. Besides, what's the parent supposed to do with the fish it catches to feed its young - put it in a shopping basket?
It is interesting, though, that while the parent spends long hours hunting for fish to feed its infant, the parent doesn't appear to be motivated to feed its young unless the chick puts on a major exhibition to show its really, really hungry.
Well, the parent needs nourishment, too. Perhaps the way a seabird is able to digest (as in fully digest) at least some food is by requiring the infant to prove it's truly hungry. If the chick doesn't do a convincing job, then Mom gets to have all the fish, and the kid will have to do a better job of pleading the next time Mom returns from hunting.
By the way, this doesn't come from Wikipedia - it's sheer speculation, so take it with a grain of salt. As you would if the information came from Wikipedia , , ,
