This is my coworker's husband Mai and their new daughter Maya. She's sporting a cloche I made with Lion Brand's cashmere blend yarn. It's your basic sideways garter stitch short-row beanie from this book. The great thing is, it's one size fits 6 mos - 2 years! So she'll be able to wear it for another season, at least. I really like the yarn... soft, squishy, warm, yet washable. Mai has requested one for himself :) [photo courtesy of the new mom]

Belly Update

That church sale had some great books, including this one from the 1950s, for a quarter.

Woohoo! I've spilled the beans to Webchicken, my favorite librarian and chicken, who's also pregnant, as well as to Subspace, my favorite Crohn's patient who loves to hear about my health issues in nauseating detail!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I've only added Subspace and Webchicken to the list and I haven't opened anything up to regular flickr yet. I just didn't want Voltaire people confused when Sunday and Sara leave comments on baby photos.

Our first doctor's appointment is Wednesday and we also get a sonogram. YAY. I'm so excited. We'll probably formally announce things online after that appointment.

Thank you everyone for all your support. It really means so much to me.
